I should have used the trial but it's too late now. Made by the folks over at PictureCode, Photo Ninja is a RAW converter for both Windows and Mac OS X computers. If you see value in the data contained in the original thread, then no worries and by all means, please carry on. There's no violation of rules here at all nor was I trying to criticize the comment. Not a huge deal, but often the data in older threads is no longer all that relevant and it's simply easier (and perhaps a little less unwieldy) to simply create a new thread on the topic. I'm not sure if you're criticizing his comment, but I don't think reviving old threads is always bad. They also had some nice technology to recover color from blown out areas IIRC. I'm quite glad that we have this 2022 update on how PhotoNinja is doing. Perhaps you didn't notice that the last post in this thread, prior to your response, was 6 years ago? Try it and you may be surprised how fast you can achieve excellent results. PictureCode is planning to release version 2, but is undertaking some considerable work on complex mathematical solutions to yield new forms of image processing. Over the last 2 years, PictureCode has been adding support for new cameras, and making incremental improvements to the software. PhotoNina yielded far superior results in with only a few simple adjustments. The open source solutions yielded satisfactory results, but required too much time to achieve decent results. DXO yielded very good results, but its noise correction was still no match for PhotoNinja. In 2018, I was curious to see if I could replace PhotoNinja with another RAW editor, including DXO and the wonderful Darktable and RawTherapee.
